Our Vision, Mission and Values

Our Vision

A community where everyone has equitable access to the health services they need to enjoy their fullest and healthiest lives.

Our Mission

Helping low-income and uninsured people access high quality health care and health-promoting services.

Our Values

Trust

We believe that trust is central to improving health care access – trust from those we serve, trust in our partners, and trust within our team.

Dignity

We work with kindness, respect, and integrity, recognizing the value of every person. We believe everyone deserves access to quality, culturally competent health
care, when and where they need it.

Social Justice

We strive to be an anti-racist organization, challenging structural racism and oppression. We advocate for our clients, work to overcome our own biases, and seek systemic changes to bring about a more just health care system.

Well Being

We recognize that health is more than access to health care. We strive to serve the whole person by creating a partnership to improve health, economic stability, and overall well-being. We also take care of ourselves so that we can serve others.

Persistence

We know that achieving health care access for all will not be quick or easy. We work with relentless determination to bring this vision to life.

Partnership

We can’t do this work alone. We rely on partnerships with clients, community organizations, local government, and health care systems to support a health safety-net that works for the entire community.

Help the Washtenaw Health Project advocate for the health and well-being of everyone in our community.
