Spring is a season of renewal—and now it’s the season to renew your Washtenaw Health Plan (WHP) coverage, too.

What’s new
We’ve adjusted the Washtenaw Health Plan renewal schedule to better serve you.
In past years, WHP members renewed their coverage by October 31.
Now, renewals take place each year between April 1 and May 31.
What this means for your coverage
That means your current WHP coverage has been extended through May 31, 2026, giving you extra time before your next renewal.
However, your coverage will end if we can’t reach you. We’ve sent a letter about this to all current members. If that letter comes back to us (for example, if your mailing address is incorrect), your coverage will end—and you’ll have to reapply to rejoin the program.
What you need to do
1) Please make sure we can reach you!
If you’ve moved or changed your phone number, contact us to update your information. If we can’t reach you, your coverage will end—and you’ll have to reapply.
2) Tell us about changes as soon as they happen
We need to know about life changes (adjustments to your income, address, household size, immigration status) to make sure your coverage is correct.
3) Renew in the Spring.
We’ll mail your renewal form to you starting in April. Make sure to complete your form—one for each family member on the plan—and get it back to us by May 31. Provide proof of any changes to your income, address, household size, and immigration status.
Why renewal matters
Renewing your WHP coverage each year helps you stay connected to care—so you can keep seeing your doctor, filling prescriptions, and avoiding large medical bills.
WHP coverage doesn’t renew automatically, so it’s important to respond to your renewal notice as soon as you get it.
How we can help
Our staff can help you:
– Complete your renewal form and make sure your information is correct.
– Update your proof of eligibility documents (such as pay stubs or your tax return).
– Choose or update your clinic if you’ve moved or want a new provider.
– Understand your benefits and how to use your coverage.
We’re here to make renewal simple—so you can focus on your health, not paperwork.
Watch for a letter from us in the spring!
Spring is a time to start fresh—and to make sure your health coverage stays active.
